JUNIOR SECTION SCIENCE CENTRE SLEEPOVER - FRIDAY 8TH NOVEMBER 2013
Hi All,
We had exactly 20 boys submit entries to attend the sleepover event on 8th, so thankfully I did not have to go to a ballot and so all can go.
I attach a couple of letters below, one from me, one from the organisers.
I will hand out letters and consent forms on Friday.
The consent forms must come back with the boys to the bus on the 8th.
We will leave Brooms Rd car park at 4pm on Friday 8th. I realise that is tight from school finish but unfortunately we need to be at the science centre for 6pm.
Any questions don't hesitate to get in touch,
Many thanks
Regards
Jim

DUMFRIES & GALLOWAY STANDARD WISH CAMPAIGN

We have been successful in our registration for the Dumfries & Galloway Standard WISH campaign. Basically we collect as many tokens as we can and we then get a share of the £10'000 on offer.
The tokens started appearing in today's D&G Standard, so if you get the Standard or your wider friends and family get it then please encourage them to keep the tokens for the boys who can then bring them in on a Friday night until the campaign closes.
The more tokens we collect the bigger our share of the £10'000 we will receive to futher our offering to our members.
Thank you for your continued support.

JUNIOR SECTON UPDATE
Hi All,
Hope you are winding down ready for the school holidays.... just wanted to give you a couple of updates and dates for your diary...
I wanted to make you aware that last Friday we spent time with the boys as part of their badgework by talking about bullying. This subject covers the Body, Mind and Community themes within the badge structure.
With so many new boys this year, and the influx from Anchor section, we now have boys from a variety of schools across the area so I felt it was a timely topic to discuss and make sure the boys understood the consequence within the BBs of any bullying.
The boys interacted very well and demonstrated that they were well aware of the messages contained within the charts. I include them for your awareness.
I also want to thank the boys that supported the weekend battalion events.
The bag packing raised 1,034 pounds , a great effort , and with the turnout from 2nd Dumfries being very good then we'll get a decent share.
I was very pleased to see 12 Juniors at the church service on Sunday, all were exceptionally well behaved given the service ran on longer than normal, so well done to them. They also went on to enjoy a fun afternoon with the treasure hunt around Dumfries town centre and then football and bean bags.
I know it is difficult to compete with other weekend activities so many thanks for all that turned out.
Remember that if anyone still has to put their name and money in for the Science Centre Sleepover, they need to do it on Friday.
This Friday sees our last night before the mid term break. I hope you all enjoy your holidays.
Our first Friday back will be November 1st, so this will be a combined Halloween / Guy Fawkes evening... come in fancy dress for some spooky fun....
DATES
Friday 1st November : Halloween / Guy Fawkes - usual times - prize for best fancy dress !
Sunday 3rd November - 2nd Dumfries Re-Dedication Service, St Michaels Church, meet 10.30 in our normal hall, wear uniform. This is our annual company visit to our local church and is part of badge work.
Friday 8th November - Science Centre Sleepover
Sunday 10th November - Remembrance Sunday, St Michaels Church, meet 10,30 in normal hall in uniform. Our colours will parade, all boys welcome to join us.

FIT TO BURSTING WITH SUCCESS
We are no longer able to accept any new boys in Junior Section for now. We have had a fantastic growth this year and all by word of mouth, so for that I say thank you to you and your boys, but unfortunately we are at the limit of the hall and staff with a role of 28 boys.
We will run a waiting list if required going forward.
