Youth Programme of the Year Award 2014
1st March 2014 saw the Annual Nithsdale Community Achievement Awards held at DGOne in Dumfries in recognition and celebration of involvement, dedication and achievement for individuals, groups and communities from across Nithsdale. We were incredibly pleased and privileged to attend as 2nd Dumfries, The Boys' Brigade was nominated and shortlisted for a Dumfries & Galloway Council Nithsdale Community Achievement Award in the category of "Youth Programme of the Year".
The "Youth Programme of the Year" recognises a project or activity carried out within the community which demonstrates clear and lasting positive impact on the community.
The Company was very privileged even to be nominated for the award let along shortlisted and invited to the Awards Ceremony, however we were even more privileged (and surprised) to be announced as WINNERS of the Youth Programme of the Year Award.
We would like to thank Dumfries and Galloway Council for their recognition as well as our Leaders, Parents/Carers and Members who without their support we would be unable to function.
Fantastic in raising awareness and recognition of the work of our Volunteer Youth Leaders across the country.
On behalf of Solway Battalion and 2nd Dumfries Company Executive, Iain Rowan.
